Plant Overview

Astilbe A. Fanal

Astilbe × arendsii 'Fanal'

Astilbe 'A. Fanal' is a shade-tolerant herbaceous perennial. A classic astilbe with rich, glowing red to dark salmon-red plumes in early summer on an upright, well-branched plant. Among the most vivid and reliable of the red astilbes. Prefers moist, rich, well-drained soil in partial to full shade. Keep consistently moist — does not tolerate drought. Divide every 3–4 years to maintain vigor. A top choice for shaded borders, woodland gardens, and rain gardens where feathery plumes provide color and vertical interest through summer.
