Plant Overview
Syringa Miss Kim
Syringa pubescens subsp. patula 'Miss Kim'
Syringa 'Miss Kim' is a deciduous flowering shrub. A refined, compact lilac with smaller, more elegant flower clusters of icy lavender-blue and an intense, spicy-sweet fragrance in spring. Outstanding burgundy-red fall foliage adds a second season of value. Best in full sun with average, slightly alkaline, well-drained soil. Good air circulation helps reduce powdery mildew. Deadhead spent blooms when possible. An enduring garden classic for specimen plantings, informal hedges, and mixed borders where intensely fragrant spring blooms are a centerpiece.
