Plant Overview
Grass Pennisetum Red Head
Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Red Head'
Pennisetum 'Red Head' is a ornamental fountain grass. Produces large, dramatic reddish-bronze plumes above arching green foliage from midsummer through fall. A vigorous fountain grass with outstanding plume color and excellent landscape presence. Thrives in full sun with well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established. Cut back to within a few inches of the ground in late winter before new growth begins. A graceful addition to mixed borders, mass plantings, and containers — feathery plumes and arching foliage provide movement and texture from summer through winter.
