Plant Overview
Grass Misc. Yaku Jima
Miscanthus sinensis 'Yaku Jima'
Miscanthus 'Yaku Jima' is a large ornamental maiden grass. A dwarf, compact maiden grass selection with fine, narrow foliage and attractive silvery plumes in fall. Stays low and tidy — excellent for smaller borders and mass plantings. Thrives in full sun to light shade in average, well-drained soil. Drought tolerant once established. Cut back hard in late winter before new growth emerges. An outstanding specimen or backdrop plant for large borders — graceful form, showy plumes, and excellent winter presence make it indispensable.
